Why Busha’s

Busha (boo-sha) is the Polish word for Grandma. The special moments we shared before she passed instilled within me a deep connection for the art of baking. She baked with creativity and love, and her passion was contagious. That genuine desire still inspires me daily. I want to share that same joy with those around me, which is why my vision is to Bake the World a Better Place! Thank you for your support as I continue to follow my passion and live my vision every single day.

Catherine’s Story

Every job I have had since I was 18 has been in a bakery. I started locally at Sweet Eugene’s donut shop, working from 12am-6am making fresh donuts daily. Moved my way up at another bakery, Cake Junkie, making cupcakes, cake balls and assisting in simple cakes. Then I went off to Galway, Ireland and worked at one of the oldest bakeries in the area for three months and learned a whole new world of baking. From there I went on to learn how to manage a cupcake shop, Crave Cupcakes, in Houston, Tx. Then moved to St. Louis, Mo and was a pastry chef for a country club where I learned how to make creme brulee, croissants, danishes and elegant desserts .

When I left that job I finally made it to the top of my ladder I had been climbing for years, a general manager of a wonderful bakery, The Sweet Divine, and loved every minute of fully running a business like it is my own. Being a Texas native, I knew I would always end up coming back to Texas. So I moved on back and got a job under the Cake Boss himself. I was the general manager for one of his bakeries and quickly realized, I had finally built up all the knowledge I needed to run my own personal business. So, I came back to good ol’ Aggie Land, College Station, I decided it was time.

I am so grateful for the love and support I have been shown from family, friends and customers alike. Because of y’all, I am able to keep doing what I love in BCS. I want to see Busha’s Custom Cookies take Bryan/College Station by storm, and I can’t do that without your support. Contact me before your next party, and we will work together to design a cookie order that is completely unique to your event. They don’t call me “The Cookie Lady” for nothing. Let’s talk!
